What about sizing and fittings? Can I be sure my dress will fit properly?
We want your dress to fit properly as much as you do, and we take great care to ensure the right fit for you. You may choose one of our sample dresses, a made-to-size dress from our Style Salon, or a completely custom dress made to your specifications.
Sample Dresses:
We make our sample dresses in sizes 2 – 6, and they can be slightly altered to your measurements if your size falls within that range.
Made-to-Size Style:
When you place your order for a Made-to-Size dress from our Style Salon, we will send you a very detailed and specific measurement guide. To ensure accuracy, we request you visit an experienced tailor to take and record the measurements we require. With the exact measurements in hand, we can confidently create your dress to fit your body exactly as it should. Be sure to wear the undergarments you plan to wear with your dress when you have your measurements taken.
Try on your dress (with the proper undergarments) as soon as it arrives. Virtually every Sheri Autry Couture dress fits as it should, right out of the box. If required, any minor alterations can be easily accommodated by a professional tailor.
Contact us within 24 hours of receiving your dress if there are significant fit problems, and we will work with you to make it right.
Custom Dresses:
We work very closely with you to create a dress designed just for you that fits your vision, your budget, and your body perfectly.
If you are considering a custom-made gown, we start with a conversation about your budget, timeline, and specific ideas. We can discuss different fabrics, lace, and overlay options. We use Pinterest as a shared “creative space” as we design your dress so it is easy for us to review ideas, inspirations, images, sketches, fabrics, and embellishments.
Once you place your order for a custom dress, we will send you a very detailed and specific measurement guide. Vintage or Antique Materials:
Please be aware that if you choose a design that incorporates antique or vintage materials, they may not be in “perfect” condition and there may be some slight imperfections (which we consider a good thing, giving fashion more character). Please do not consider our vintage fashions if you are looking for something brand new or flawless.
Payment, Shipping, and Delivery for In-Stock Items
Payment is due at time of purchase unless prior arrangements have been made. We accept PayPal and debit/credit cards only.
If you have purchased a custom-made item, a 50% deposit is required when you order, with the remaining 50% due by the estimated shipping date.
We ship in-stock items within 1 – 2 business days via USPS Priority mail with tracking to physical addresses within the US (no PO or APO/FPO addresses). You should have your package within 3 – 5 days of our ship date.
If you need your order sooner, that's no problem. Please send us a message prior to placing your order, and we will add rush charges accordingly.
We do not typically ship items with additional insurance beyond the included $50, so if you wish to have your package further insured, please send us a message indicating your preference. We are motivated to ensure your dress arrives on time and is not damaged.
Once we’ve shipped your package, we will email tracking information to you.
How long does it take to create and receive Made-to-Size dress from your Style Salon?
Our timelines depend upon our workload. During the slower season (late autumn/early winter), we can usually create your made-to-size dress within a month. At busier times, we will need up to 2 - 3 months. When you place your order for a made-to-size dress from our Style Salon, we will determine how best to work with you to get your dress to you when you need it.
We are always happy to discuss rush orders; additional rush charges will be added.
How long does it take to create and receive a custom dress?
When you order a custom dress, we will first discuss your timeline and budget to ensure we can deliver your gown in a timely manner. A lot depends on the season and our creative process. If you order during a slow time (for example, in the late autumn/early winter), we may be able to create and deliver your dress within 6 - 8 weeks. During busier peak demand times, we will need a minimum of 3 – 6 months to ensure you get your dress when you need it.
We are always happy to discuss rush orders; additional rush charges will be added.
Can I cancel an order?
Orders can be cancelled only within 24 hours of order confirmation.
Returns
As you might imagine, due to the nature of our unique fabrics and custom designs, we do not accept returns. Of course, we want our clients to be happy, and we understand that every situation is different. If you are not satisfied with your Sheri Autry Couture purchase, contact us within two business days of receiving your dress, and we will be happy to discuss the particulars.
